This draft is not ready for paid checkout. Before launch, it must be reviewed for the selling entity, supported markets, shipping origin, tax model, campaign terms, and final fulfillment process.
1. Scope and information before purchase
This Shipping Policy explains how 8ight expects to communicate shipping for 8ight Pro, campaign rewards, pre-orders, and direct purchases. Before a customer makes a paid commitment, the applicable checkout or campaign page will identify available destinations, shipping charges, estimated shipment or delivery timing, and any material restrictions then known.
2. Kickstarter rewards and pre-orders
Backing a Kickstarter project is different from buying an in-stock retail product. Kickstarter reward timing, eligibility, and fulfillment will be governed by the official campaign page and applicable platform terms. Direct pre-orders will be governed by the Pre-order Terms shown before checkout. 8ight will provide material production and fulfillment updates and communicate known delays.
3. Shipping estimates and delivery commitments
Estimated shipment and delivery windows are not guaranteed dates unless expressly stated otherwise. 8ight will only publish a shipment estimate when it has a reasonable basis for doing so. Hardware production, quality testing, certification, component availability, logistics, customs, and carrier conditions may affect timing.
Where mandatory consumer law applies, statutory delivery periods remain in effect. For example, EU consumer rules generally require delivery within 30 days unless a different time has been expressly agreed.
4. Delays, cancellation, and refunds
If 8ight cannot ship within the promised or legally required period, customers will be notified and given a revised estimate when reasonably available. Where required by applicable law, customers will be offered the choice to accept the delay or cancel for a full and prompt refund.
For U.S. orders covered by the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, 8ight will follow the applicable delay-notice, consent, cancellation, and refund requirements. Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable cancellation or refund rights.
5. Shipping regions
Available destinations may depend on product certification, customs requirements, carrier coverage, battery-transport rules, campaign configuration, and local requirements for camera-enabled wearable hardware. Final region availability will be disclosed before paid orders open. An address being accepted by a form does not guarantee that the destination will be supported.
6. Address collection and changes
Customers may be asked to provide or confirm a shipping address through Kickstarter, a pledge manager, Shopify, or another approved fulfillment workflow. Address changes may be restricted after fulfillment preparation begins. Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information and should contact support promptly if it changes.
7. Shipping costs, taxes, duties, and import fees
Shipping charges and any taxes collected by 8ight will be shown before payment where known. International shipments may be subject to VAT, customs duties, brokerage fees, import taxes, or carrier charges. The campaign or checkout flow will state whether known duties and taxes are included or may be collected from the recipient. 8ight will not describe a shipment as duties-paid unless that treatment has been confirmed.
8. Battery-powered hardware and carrier restrictions
8ight products or accessories may contain lithium batteries. Air transport, destination eligibility, packaging, documentation, and carrier acceptance can be subject to special safety rules. Final battery configuration, transport testing, packaging, and shipping restrictions will be confirmed before fulfillment. 8ight will not ship to a destination or by a service that cannot lawfully accept the product.
9. Tracking and delivery
When tracking is available, it will be sent through the applicable order, campaign, or fulfillment workflow. Carrier scans can be delayed during customs clearance or regional handoff. A tracking estimate is provided by the carrier and is not a guaranteed delivery appointment.
10. Risk in transit and damaged shipments
Where required by consumer law, 8ight remains responsible for loss or damage until the goods are received by the customer or a person designated by the customer. Different rules may apply when a customer independently appoints a carrier not offered by 8ight.
Customers should report damaged, incorrect, incomplete, or missing deliveries promptly and preserve the packaging, carrier labels, photographs, and order details reasonably needed to investigate the claim. Support instructions will be published before fulfillment begins.
11. Returns, withdrawal rights, and warranties
This Shipping Policy does not replace the Returns & Repairs policy, Warranty, Pre-order Terms, or campaign terms. It also does not limit mandatory consumer rights. Where applicable, EU consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases beginning on delivery, subject to legal exceptions and the information provided before purchase.
12. Contact
For shipping, destination, pre-order, or fulfillment questions, contact info@8ight.works. Include the order or pledge email and reference number when available.
